Re: Power steering removal done right!
Was the outside temp about the same when you drove both cars? I can tell a noticeable difference with my steering with about a 20-30 degree difference. Esp when it get's very hot. With temps in the upper 80's/90's it almost feels like the power steering is still there.

Re: Clutch issue and clunking noise.
Clutch issue sounds like a hydraulic issue. Is their fluid leaking arounf the clutch master cylinder. Also how old is the clutch? Clutch was either new or pretty new when I bought the car 13k miles ago. The master cylinder is brand new, we just replaced it less than 100mi ago. What about the slave ...

Re: Stalling still, any other ideas?
So it wont die when you go wot when in your 2nd or 3rd? Sounds like some type of load issue to me, which would point me to ignition problems. One thing to check, right when the car dies pop some of the plugs off and see how they look. If they aer wet then its more than likely something with the igni...

did you happen to hit the key with your knee during the braking? I have done this countless times in the s2k... just nudge the key to the off position and all of the sudden, engine off and I didn't really know what happened at first. Just a thought Just curious to how tall are you? I'm 6' and I don...

Awesome D. Thanks for the info, yeah gearspeed is the way to go.
I haven't torn down the countershaft, but I'll do that to be sure those cage bearings can get some nice fluid in there.

Any tranny experts out there?
I'm helping a friend with an ls... Long story short, Axle seal was broken and had been leaking fluid. 5th gear eventually seized to the shaft, and the car was stuck in gear. We took apart the tranny, and were able to get everything apart with no real damage. However 5th gear syncro wear ring was des...

He may not have updated the os to enable the mms.
I don't remember what software revision it is. But my 3g did not come with mms from the factory. I'm not sure about the 3gs however.

A hosting site doesn't have VM's? Should NOT take 8 hours period to get ya back up and running. Any webhost that is selling a "dedicated" plan will generally tell you if it's a virtual plan or not. If it's a dedicated box in the true sense of the form you're normally assed out, 8 hours is...

Harddrive crashed yesterday around noon with my dedicated server from inmotion hosting.
Literally took them 8 hours to get a new server setup for me get into, thought that was kinda ridiculous... Anybody else have any experience with them?
Thank god for having a good disaster recovery plan.

Re: The OT place for OGs to BS w/o BS.
Gotcha, I wasn't 100% sure if the wheel bearings or intermediate shafts were different. Be careful with the autozone axles. I bought a set (just because my oems had 90k miles on them or so). I got so much vibration in my drivers side wheels. Just when I was taking off maybe 30%-40% throttle. I Took...

Re: 50 dollar intake
What sold me on the intake before I even started was when I did the numbers. To get the best surface area number, I decided to measure the actual screen surface. My stock k&n filter : Fin size: 5 7/8 * 1/2 * 1/8 47 Fins on filter Use two equations, First equation is for the surface area of the s...

Re: 50 dollar intake
Very nice Dan! how well does that foil thing seal to this box? I'd be somewhat concerned about it blocking that velocity stack a bit, but I can't tell how close it actually gets in there a bit. I had planned on building something similar years ago, but never got around to it. Reminds me a bit of th...

Re: 50 dollar intake
Wow, that is some impressive engineering Dan. Do you have any plans to direct airflow to the box's inlet? Thanks ryan, this is 2nd version I've come up. Ever since I saw my first velocity stack years ago, I've always thought about a flat style filter, with no restrictions around the stack. My first...

50 dollar intake
Finally I got fed up with the stock intake and decided to fab something up. I may still end up with a mugen in the long run, but the 500+ price tag just irritates me more than anything. After crunching some numbers, this flat style filter has about 70% more surface area then the k&n cone filter ...

brake coolers -> outlet ducts
Just wanted to share some info. With continuous brake temp issues at the track Ive decided to make some brake coolers. There really isn't much info out there, for a good proper air feed into the rotor. So this is what I've come up with: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs201.snc4/38412_65...
