What would it take...?

Post by sptrescue »

Hey all,

I'm not into bashing other peoples caRs because if they are happy that's all that matters however I've seen this thing poking around for a while and was wondering what would it take to get this thing back to a decent looking R and not this ricer abortion R...

I see the body kit and all, but what thrills me the most is that it's yellow and it's a 98...

disaster, I personally wouldn't take it over.

I'm all for saving an ITR as much as the next guy but this one should probably be set on fire.

It has to be a passion project, because with the current prices on ITR's it won't be financially worth your while. That being said, rock on and I wish you the best.

Way too much money. It's already going for (well he asking for) "you can find a good stock(ish) one for that" money, so spending the additional many thousands of dollars to bring it to stock(ish) condition again just doesn't make since. All of those body mods are smoothed with bondo, all that needs to be removed, full repaint, unshave everything, replace front and rear bumpers, replace wing (after all that said body work), remove stupid crap all over the car, etc.. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if you hit 10k putting that back to stock.

That car would be worth 4-5k to me, and I'd just part it out and dump the shell in a junkyard.
