USDM vs. CDM TypeR info!
Ok I've searched and searched and searched- here on ITRCA and Honda-Tech as well (beyond standard Google etc)
I'm looking for an accurate and exhaustive list of every last difference between the USDM and CDM North American market Integra TypeR's.
I know the big ones:
CDM had Championship White available in 2000 and 2001 (01 had red seats)
CDM models have daytime running lights (DRL's)
Cluster reads in KM instead of MPH
I just test drove a Champ White Canadian R today. Things of note:
-It had rear wiper
-It had immobilizer icon on cluster
-It did not have stock carbon look interior
If anyone has personal experience and/or a link to Honda's official info on this topic your help would be will appreciated! I'm especially interested in making sure the CDN's got the faster steering ratio in 2000, since the Canadian I drove today felt "slow" like my 98 USDM R

Pretty sure the CDM R's came with a hocky stick rack standard.
All the yr's steering ratio seem the same to me, which is "fast"...

From our very own ITRC's FAQ:
2000:
More Responsive Steering Rack, Ratio Changed to 15.7:1 from the 97/98 16.1:1

Thanks for posting that. I know about the ratio change, I was simply stating that I do not feel a differnce between the years.InfiniteMotors wrote:Little_Nolan wrote:Pretty sure the CDM R's came with a hocky stick rack standard.

I would check to see if the speakers are a higher wattage than the USDM speakers, pretty sure USDM models are 15watts (correct me if I am wrong).. My CDM si had 30 watt speakers standard as the USDM ex's only had 15 watters.
Curious what shift knob comes on the CDM models also.. and if they changed like the USDM models

Re: USDM vs. CDM TypeR info!
Wish I could say this one had the stock knob but it was an aluminum R knockoff so no luck there...
I was expecting the immobilizer-ed key to be bigger- this one looked just like our 98 key. Anyone have a pic or first hand experience with that one?

my 97 key and my buddies 00 key are about the same size.
and the immobilizer chip is actually really small. key really doesnt need to be that big. i can take a pic of a 03+ accord one if you want. they are about the size of a woodroof key on your crank pulley.
US and Canadian cars have different part numbers on there ECU's...

True on the ECUs...I'm actually running a CDM ecu on my 98 USDM. I doubt there's a tuning difference...probably just for daytime running lights control, etc.

Indeed...although it could have some more aggressive expectations for cold weather also- Open loop/closed loop warm up etc.Doespike wrote:True on the ECUs...I'm actually running a CDM ecu on my 98 USDM. I doubt there's a tuning difference...probably just for daytime running lights control, etc.

I think all the USDM from 98+ had the wiper, just not the 97's. Not sure if CDM ones were the same with that.InfiniteMotors wrote: I just test drove a Champ White Canadian R today. Things of note:

Hi, I'm from Canada. I'm pretty sure you already know that but
-Canada never see black ITR.
-There was 1999 ITR sold in Canada(I owned one)
-Actually the 2000 key really look like any 2001-2002 honda civic Key. They do have immobilizer
-When you turn the key on, the ''green'' key logo in the cluster light on
-Canada never see carbon fiber. All black trim like regular integra
-The floor mat available is only the ''checkered'' model. We never see the plain model
-In all canada ITR, the shift knob is black leather with red stiching
-It was possible to buy the car with winter tire during winter.
