Finally picked her up. =)
Finally picked her up. =)
After finding her in .... March, I finally picked up my Type R this weekend. =) Just had a lot of personal stuff to take care of in the past few months, but the wait is over!
She's all stock, 29k miles 98 w/ac and I got her from the original owner. She took amazing care of the car over the years and it still has the new car smell, along with 2 front bras, car cover with bag, and the original window sticker! The drive home from picking her up was awesome.
I just finished clay bar-ing, polish, and waxing the car, so I haven't had too much time to go around to take pictures, but here she is:
Only sad part is that my MR2 has to stay outside until I finish cleaning up the garage. =(
She was supposed to be a daily driver to replace my 2000 Civic Si, but it's just too clean to drive everyday, so I think I'm still going to be in the MR2 until I decide what to do, but I'm finally a Type R owner!

Congrats on the pickup!! She looks great!! What is heR badge # on the armrest?
Yeah, a daily driven ITR is a hard thing to do. I'm sure you're well aware of the theft problem we face.
Enjoy and welcome to ITRCA

Wow, what a collection indeed and the best color! Are you on NSXPrime as well?
Re: Finally picked her up. =)
Thanks! The badge number is 98-0670. CA born and raised!
Yeah, I'm worried a lot about theft, but I don't think I'll be driving her around that much, and if I do bring her to work, I can see the spot where I park from my desk. =) And she'll be tucked away in the garage at night.
I'm on Prime, but I don't post that much. Just mainly in the marketplace shopping. =)

Probably. Well, if I can find a stock shift knob and shift boot. She change it out to a cf-looking Acura one? I'm not sure if it's from the newer models. Then maybe do the clear bra. She'll probably stay mostly stock for now, and maybe later get some Rainbow Speakers and TRU Technology Amps. That'd be it though. =) The cars are going to have to take turns on who gets to go to the track. =(
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Finally picked her up. =)
The CF shift knob was an option back in '98. I've only seen/heard of a few guys getting them. They've been long discontinued.
I do prefer the regular leather knob....though it doesn't wear very well.

Re: Finally picked her up. =)
Thanks! I'll try and get some pics of her tonight when I get home.
I think the stock shift knob is the same that I have on the NSX, but just with red stitching. I like the feel of that one more then the current one, but I'll see if I can find one with a boot. Someone actually PM'd me that they have a boot and knob for sale too. =) Great community! =)

Here's some more pics... not the greatest quality, but I'll try and take her outside this weekend if the weather is nice. I'm debating on putting the stock stereo back in, or just using the one that's in there for now.
And just for fun.. =)
I've just been lucky to get the cars all from original owners that still had the window sticker. =) Well, plus I usually look for cars that still have the window sticker. =T I also found the brochure about the Type R I requested back in 98. =) But I was 18 and broke, so there was no way I could get that.. haha

Noice! The same shift knob I had on mine. Did it come with the opt. trunk mat?
Now take the feyg-pants off.

Man I envy you.... 3 of my most favorite cars that I can hopefully grasp in my life time and all in the best color.
I hope to have an NSX myself in the next three years. One that I can rebuild myself and make myself.
Nice find!

Re: Finally picked her up. =)
great garage you have there. is it at all possible for you to get a cheap daily driver? that MR2 seems way too nice to have that "distinction"
Re: Finally picked her up. =)
I'm kind of looking for a daily, but I can't really justify having 4 cars at one time, especially when it's just me driving them. =( Plus, I don't know what I could let myself get rid of.
I really like the 04+ Acura TL, but it just seems too practical to have. Practical is for when I'm older, in my opinion. =) AP1 S2k in GPW would be another candidate for a daily.
Thanks for the compliments!
