Re: Power steering removal done right!
I did my setup a little different then erik's, more like dropspeed's setup on the old ht
Fitting:
M14x1.5 to 3/8 Hose Barb
Parker 68HB-6-M114 (http://www.amazon.com/Parker-68HB-6-M11 ... B002KVFB4W)
Hose Loop
Acura 53735-SR3-960 (http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp ... nputstate=)
Reservoir Setup
Mount (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produc ... RecID=1111)
Small Tank (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produc ... oduct=3558)
Tank Clamp (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produc ... RecID=1132)
Tank Cap (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produc ... RecID=1118)
All you need now is a 5/16" hose and a 3/8 tee. However you will have to force the 5/16" hose onto tee to make it connect to the reservoir which is also 5/16".
You could however find a reducer tee, but finding them in metal and cheap was somewhat difficult for me.
I've been running this setup for over 3 years now with no issues.

Re: Power steering removal done right!
I removed my P/S some years ago, had a rack clamp modified for the Del Sol rack I picked up from the local salvage yard and really like the feel. The only time it's a bit hard to turn is at very low speeds or stand still turning.

Re: Power steering removal done right!
Good to see Matt around still.
Eric, I have sampled a couple peoples cars with this mod. They both felt completely different from each other. Would this be directly related to the different choices in the components used or would be something simple, like the amount of PS fluid left in the system?

Re: Power steering removal done right!
The amount of PS fluid (or lack) does play a role. Other factors are:
-PS removal setup (with / without breather, simply removing belt, etc)
-Condtion of Steering components (worn, aftermarket bushings, etc)
-Rim size / tire type and size

Re: Power steering removal done right!
Just for clarification: These were both vented systems, just executed slightly different between the 2 cars. Both were on 205/15 Azenis.

Re: Power steering removal done right!
what was different about their execution? the shorter the looped section is the easier it should be to turn the wheel.

Re: Power steering removal done right!
Good information Erik. I need to follow your write and redo my setup. I know several have noted how my wheel is more difficult than some to turn.

Re: Power steering removal done right!
Was the outside temp about the same when you drove both cars? I can tell a noticeable difference with my steering with about a 20-30 degree difference. Esp when it get's very hot. With temps in the upper 80's/90's it almost feels like the power steering is still there.
