notice the difference between that one and Wai's video. NASA almost always cuts out what is one of the very best parts of the track. Turns 2-4 hope they don't when we're there. you'll all definitely have to come back if so.

Yeah, noticed that in Wai's vid....that would suck to cut that out.

Just got back from my first doctors appointment since the surgery and she said I could likely be driving in 6-8 weeks post-op if I do everything right.
With that being said The mid ohio date is on the 8th week post operation so hope might not be lost, I haven't requested a refund yet and will do everything in my power not to.

Re: Mid Ohio August 14-15th NASA HPDE/etc
It should be okay. I spoke with Dave @ NASA great lakes about the possible use of the chicane and said it would be a deal breaker to many if it wasn't there. Here was his reply
Steve,
It has not yet been determined. Just curious, from a customer satisfaction stand point, how many folks will simply not go if we don't have the chicane?
If you have information about what they drive and which group they participate in, it will help me understand their dilemma, thus allow me to provide a better service for customers.
Thanks,
Dave

Tell him if we wanted less curves we'd hit up a NASCAR track
When I get a min at work tomorrow I'll shoot him a quick email too with my vote and love for curves.

Steve,
We want to hear from everyone, not just those who are willing to post to the forums.
I'm looking forward to learning about why one configuration is better then the other.
Thanks,
Dave Royce

<- paid, like I said the only thing that will keep me from going is my foot. I'm very confident I'll be able to drive by then since it'll be 8.5 weeks post-op.
This should be a pretty killer event, it was definitely the one I was looking forward tongue most.

Re: Mid Ohio August 14-15th NASA HPDE/etc
Ok, drafted this email to Dave...
"Hi Dave,
I just wanted to voice my support for the use of the chicane at the August Mid-Ohio HPDE. That sort of feature adds a great learning tool for quick car handling as well as being one of the most enjoyable sections of a track. If we all wanted less curves, we would sign up for oval tracks
There are several of us from my car club, the Integra Type R Club of America, who will be attending your event. If you elect not to use the chicane we will probably still attend but will most likely look to other events in the future who will use this great feature of Mid Ohio.
Thank you for your time and see you out there!
Joe Farrell "
Sounds good I think..

I'm going in group two. I wouldn't mind having a tour guide for a few laps though.
I'm positive I'll be walking by then, this foot is getting better and better by the day
Erik, get on the clinic dude.

Re: Mid Ohio August 14-15th NASA HPDE/etc
I'm debating which run group as well; I'd like an instructor but being on track with pure novices can be scary. Once I make up my mind I'll pay.

I'm in 2. From my understanding you can still request an instructor to ride along.

I was under confusion if they're mixing groups 1 & 2 or not, I wouldn't think a track like this would have a hard time selling them out separately.Doespike wrote:I'm in 2. From my understanding you can still request an instructor to ride along.

everybody needs to do that, it could work.Doespike wrote:Yeah, 1 and 2 run together so I read.

I don't know how I feel about both run groups together, seems like it could be rather chaotic.
