This time last year the Expo was only a month and a half away ... but still, there do seem to be a lot of open driver's spots left.

What rated Helmet is needed for the Expo?
also what helmet rating is most accepted by HPDEs?
And which Rating is most recommended for HPDEs?

Also fullface or open face?

Snell 95 or later, which means SA95 or SA2000. I'm not sure whether or not motorcycle helmets (M95 or M2000) are allowed or not. Either way, if you're shopping for a helmet, you should get one of the SA helmets that are designed for cars.
bbasso wrote:also what helmet rating is most accepted by HPDEs?
SA95 or SA2000. Most organizations accept the two most recent Snell ratings, with a grace period of a year or two when a new Snell rating is issued (every five years). So two to three years from now, when the SA2005 rating will have been out for a little while, an SA95 helmet will no longer be accepted by most HPDEs.
bbasso wrote:And which Rating is most recommended for HPDEs?
SA2000.
bbasso wrote:Also fullface or open face?
I think most folks prefer full face.

Nobody answered my first post. So I'll try this again:

If all the track spots are not filled up, can non-ITR cars register for the track event? i.e. Civics with ITR badges?

Yes we will open spots but not until around may 1

How is the track coming along? I will be there for FATT on Friday so I'll give it a gander and see. I hope it's done in time.

The owner of the track told Trey that he'd know for sure on the 25th.

Let's hope for the best. It's theoretically possible to finish the track in just three weeks; however, that simple fact belies the vagaries involved when humans get involved in anything.
