The OT place for OGs to BS w/o BS.

Anything goes? Well, if you keep it clean and aren't obnoxious.

Seriously. Once I graduate i'll be picking one up. Lately though seems more costly to rebuild one then just to buy a complete one.
Trust me...it is.

D wrote:can someone here correct me if i'm wrong.. is chrome the only tuning software that will do unlimited cars/ecus? ectune/neptune/hondata seem locked down to 1 vehicle.

I havn't looked into this in ages.... I have a PowerFC, socketed P06, Burn2, Hulog and i use Megasquirt on my 22RE..... I'm trying to figure out why i wouldn't want to just build another MS2 and not have to deal with all this licensing bullshit and expense of the 'pro' and 'dealer' editions of these softwares.... :?

yes... i'm the only one who made it to work today and :bored: :p
I'm pretty sure you can do as many as you want. I believe you get the software license for one computer (or perhaps it is one ECU) and you can create, save, and load as many as you want so I would think you can do it to as many cars as you want. I could be wrong though.

There is sufficient evidence to indicate that the rate of increase in output per unit increase of input decreases as the input increases

nah.... i know for neptune you can only burn chips with the dealer/tuner version, otherwise locked down to the RTP/demon that you have installed in your ecu. No ability to extract the bin from within the software.

I believe it's the same with ectune... i just don't feel like spending the money on an emulator.

I guess i just need to spend more time with megasquirt/megatune, and eventually just go that way with all my cars. 1 software format, all engines. Poof!

hmm.....I could've sworn with the RTP/Demon you could do that, but I've never really looked into it/tried.

Only "problem" is 4 holes drilled in trunk for a previous aftermarket wang. Those are covered with white tape and hard to even see in pixors. Not a big deal really. No rust. Clean inside and out. Maintenace records up the arse....original window sticker.
This guy is a local tool really...haha. He's seriously into hellaflush and triangle tyres. Luckily he hasn't done that to this car yet. He's been looking at newer BMWs and Euros....something newer and fresher I guess.

I need to get these cars sold and get this debt paid with a quickness so when another deal like that M3 pops up I can snatch it up.

Preach it :D

i do want to pick up a DD this summer. All this m3 talk makes me curious. I was telling Erik that my brother in law is a used car salesman and he goes to the big auctions in Denver twice a week. And he said couple months ago a 95 M3 came through and went for 2500$ . Told him if he ever sees one again to buy it.
