Endurance racing synchro's

Post by roadrace »

We are finding that our roadrace teg R is consuming Synchros at an alarming rate. To date, we have used stock Honda parts, with Amsoil MTF, with a lightweight ACT 6 puck disk, but are seeing that its tough to avoid crashing the gears after 12 hours of endurance racing.

Has anybody had success with synchrotec or other alternate manufacturer? Any input would help....

I've heard some run the carbon coated syncro's. I'll have to take a look for the specific ones, but a lot of folks rave about them.

An expo sponsor "Aquafina" carries MFactory products and they have carbon coated synchros. You can PM him on here or send me a PM for his email information.

Thanks for the replies. The shifter is stock. Also found the carbon synchr's from synchrotech. http://www.synchrotech-transmissions.com/ Called him and they sound like the real deal. What we decided to do is use stock parts for the time being and do a teardown after each endurance race.

PS, synchrotech is working on some enhanced designs that may substantially improve life compared to stock that will be out later this year.

I've put in the new carbon pad synchrotech synchros. One race down, the gearbox is like new, no crashes. Nothing proven yet bet they seem to be promising. If you are changing your sychro because they are wearing out and are using them in a race application, I would recommend them from what I've seen.
