Yep, same here. We always try for the weekends, but moving from track to track makes finding a good weekend date difficult. The WMHM team has a great weekend date locked in now. I agree, way more spectators and vibe with the weekend dates for that event. Great times for sure! I look forward to that event because it's kind of like Expo, but I can relax be a total team lazy :P

Mid-Ohio is out due to a lack of dates. This was unfortunately found out a few months ago. Mid-Ohio is on the radar for next year barring some good luck this year. We'd like to go there, but it's not an easy track to get a good date for, if any.

thats just what happens.

WMHM will probably always be weekends now. NO problem filling up a weekend event.

when we did it on weekdays, the hardcores came out, obviously, but we had almost no specators, an the events barely filled, like, chris only broke even because of T shirt sales.
I may be wrong but I seemed like expo 7 and 8 had more attendees athan expo 9 and 7 and 8 were mon/tues

Expo 9 was a mon tues also :P

We had a lot of people at VIR, but we BARELY had enough registrants by the deadline. Last year for E10, we sold out the nov and int groups within a week. That's the fastest I have ever seen.

Also in regards to E9, that event barely made it because of the late announcement and overall finances for everyone. :( That year was borderline no event, end of expo. We survived that one though :)

So if you do this whole California thing are you guys still toying with the idea of something little/non-official at Beaver Run?

***Important Announcement***

Expo 11
Where: Buttonwillow in Californina - http://buttonwillowraceway.com/
Date: May 7/8 (Saturday/Sunday)

We will open registration ASAP. As mentioned, we need to hit the 60 paid drivers # in a very short time-frame, exact date to be determined shortly. We will start out by limiting the run group sizes to 20-25 drivers. After that, you will be put on a waiting list. If we do not hit the min number needed by the drop-dead date, we will close registration, refund those that paid, and move the event to a different location.

Your spot is only secured if your full payment has cleared - payments to be paid via Paypal. If you need other options, please contact me at wmoore@oppd.com.

1 day and 15 hours is crazy. I'll make the drive from SC to NE stay there a few days then meet up with the Omaha crew and finish the drive.

Everytime I've driven to the west coast it ranges 34-36hrs. I'm a bit older now so the "straight through" type of trip will most likely not be the way. Maybe a power nap in TX

I might be looking into a co-drive, or willing to co-drive someone's car if they swing through here.

Joe, feel free to crash at my place if you decide to sleep over/stop by in Chi-Town.

I can't take time off work to make the drive but I might fly in. :D
