Just wondering if any Type-R owners are in the Northwest area north
of Seattle in Washington State or even in the Vancouver Canada area ?

Let me know as I have yet to see any others on the road up here.......

Moved up from So. Cal just last yr and used to see quite a few on the road
but not here....

Welcome and congrats on the pickup. There's usually a decent ITR meet once a year or so in the NW.
There are quite a few ITRs in the PNW but most keep them hidden pretty well due to rampant theft up there. There was a rash of thefts in the last few years where the thieves were even cutting up the shells after they stripped them.

Contact White Rocket. He's up in Vancouver eh? I think he's out of the country right now, but he'll be back soon enough.

I am currently in Georgia, but later this month, I will relocate to Seattle area. I want to be part of the PNW group & get to know Honda / Acura folks up that way.

Does anyone know how emissions testing works in the state or even specific metropolitan areas? Need to know this soon!

Thanks,

A jump harness implies you are using a jumper to run an ODBI ECU. An ODBI ECU won't be read correctly by an ODBII scanner. Automatic failure.

So,
Thanks for your reply coolhandluke, but could you maybe provide a little more information, please.

I will be in Seattle on Wed and when time is available, like on the weekend, I will try to go to the right places in or around Seattle where the answer to my question will eventually be found.

My challenges are
1. my GSR engine is bolted into the Civic.
2. a well respected Honda guy in NC is finishing my install
and is going to make it work based on what would work in NC.
2a. I am delivering the car to him tommorow
2b. We are intending to define a direction & order parts based on options listed below.
3. we are getting different direction from different folks on right way to go
3a. get a jumper and use OBD2 ECU
3b. get a jumper and use OBD1 ECU
3c. use a OBD1 ECU and convert distributor to OBD1 distributor
3d. use a Hondata S300 tied to a OBD1 ECU
4. my plan was... once it is running well in NC
to have it transported to WA
5. Enjoy it as a great commuter car
(which at some point means registering / getting plates in WA)
...because I am pretty sure...
a lil white Civic / GSR being driven like it wants to be
...with Georgia plates will draw the wrong kind of attention.

What will matter to me is,
Does Washington emissions require an emissions test on a 92 car?
Will their computer know what engine(s) should be in a 92?
Will they check engine serial # to know it should have an OBD2 ecu?
If I tell them the engine is from an integra from a year it had OBD1 ecu,
and that is what I have in it, and it tests clean, then I'll be fine?

If you have knowledge of how this works in other states or metropolitan areas,
then that may be helpful, but I need real information
from some one who has navigated the process in Washington ( & probably recently).

If you know of another forum on another site,
where this type of answer would be easier to find,
then please share that.

I am sure there are lots of opinions,
but the benefit of someone's knowledge and experience is what I need.

So, if anyone has information that can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
