Nothing too out of the ordinary.

looks like a used clutch.. maybe a little excess heat. Usually rust is a sign of exposure to a decent amount of heat. I see some glazing on the pressure plate. Wear on the disc isn't 'too' bad..

What's the story?

I'll give full details of this when there is some more responses. I don't want to taint the opinions on this.

Thanks

looks like a nasty heat spot there on the pressure plate. apart from that it looks just like a well used clutch

Long story short as possible-

was given this clutch as a temp in 05 cause old one blew in FL, never saw it before it was installed for me, I don't know the history on it, seen less then 3K miles since, never gave a problem, have trans out because I have new, wondered if I should continue to use? I make 190whp, drive hard, Need it for DD soon and DE events this coming season.
What would you do, keep and use or wait til the money is availabe to buy new(will be a few weeks)?

I sy use it till it breaks. Everyone seems to agree on that also. Its not that big of deal to replace it if it fails and by the looks of it, it'll be a while before it does fail. Just enjoy driving your car again.

just get some regular ones and wrap them up in duct tape.....that way if they break, they'll fix themselves.

Now i remember where that clutch came from. ;)

Welcome bud. :D

But yes... time for axles. (Rob, you'll appreciate this...) pulled my passenger axle to do some work, and guess what...

Yep, had to take the heat to it like we did yours. Not nearly as bad and didn't need the air hammer like we did yours... but still had to be heated up pretty good and use a long pry bar with the floor jack handle on it as well. Torque is the best way to remove those damn axle nuts.
