born in Kansas City, MO, April 10, 1986.
He was a lifelong area resident and graduated
from Rockhurst High School in May of 2004.
He was a freshman at Kansas State University,
and dreamed of designing the next generation
of cars. One of Christopher's main enjoyments
in life was skateboarding. Christopher's
infectious smile and bright spirit were
a joy to all that knew and loved him. He
knew no strangers, he was a friend to all.
His grade school years at Holy Cross through
his high school years at Rockhurst produced
lifelong friends. He shared a love of the
ocean and was an experienced SCUBA diver,
taking many vacations with his mother, father,
and sister, and they traveled extensively,
indulging their interest in nature. Christopher
was preceded in death by his grandparents
Jim and Jane Nelson, great-grandfather Ramon
Hernandez, and great-grandmothers Clara
Nelson and Bertha Cameron. Christopher is
survived by his parents Robert and Mary
Kay Camarena; best friend and sister Caranne,
all of the home; grandparents Rudolph and
Mary Camarena; great-grandmother Victoria
Hernandez, all of Salina; eight aunts; four
uncles; and 25 cousins. Christopher was
a rare free spirit. He seldom had a bad
day, always saw the best in everyone and
every situation, loved cars and music, and
everyday to him was truly the best day of
his life. He was "Scooter" to
his beloved mother, "Buggy" to
his greatest admirer, his father, and to
his sister Caranne, he was bigger than life,
her mentor and confidant, her "big
brother," and truly her Hero!!!! (Arr.
