Road Atlanta NASA 12/5-6 my race report

We were all pumped up to go the NASA Toy Run weekend at Road Atlanta. I had talked a couple of friends into coming to the HPDE events. One was an experienced road racer who is getting back into some track events after spending a few years racing shifter karts. The other friend was a complete rookie ...

Re: New to TypeR's

You have to run a stock intake maifold in Improved Touring. To answer your wheel question you need a 7" wheel. Not much more will fit under the fender. To run a 225/45 tire you need a +43 offset to clear the rear trailing arm. Much less offset is going to cause rubbing issues on the outside. PM...

Re: New to TypeR's

There are some hard core road racers on this forum. They might not check in that often. The first and best piece of advise I can give you is to buy a built car complete with log book and annual tech. You will save THOUSANDS of dollars over building a car from scratch. If you have raced much at all y...

Re: noob here........

Use whatever pads you have for Auto-x. Performance pads need some heat in them to perform best, and you don't develop that when you are running for 60 seconds. A good brake bleeding is not a bad idea, but if you experience any kind of brake issues autocrossing you are using the them way too much. Ru...

This guy seems like a straight shooter. I've been talking to him about his motor, but it's more that I can come out of pocket for a future project....

Re: New Owner

Also, it looks like the 09 racing program is going to be Performance Touring in NASA Texas. That means some parts swap around. I need the lower mount bracket for the power steering pump. Goes form the block to the bottom of the PS pump. Anyone want to sell/give/loan one to me? For future SCCA reason...

Re: New Owner

Dammit Jeff. It seems like everybody is getting a Vette. They are so cheap right now. Did you keep the blueprints of your aluminum splitter build by chance? Scott, saw your questions about a K motor on that other site. Dont do it!!!~!! Whats a K motor? What site? The only motor I'm looking for is a...

The Suspension Soulution?

So, I've been trying to do some internet research on Improved Touring suspenson setups for the #35 ITR. I think BudMan would agree that a full on race shock package would be a sweet drive in the car. Trouble is the only thing I can find on line is a complete agreement that everything has been "...

Re: New Owner

Well it didn't rain today, but I got the grass cut AND managed to get my platforms made. I sure do miss all the trick setup stuff we used to have back in "the day," but I cant justify $5k for a setup platform to do one car. So, its a level, some string, and a good tape measure for now. I p...

Re: New Owner

I dont think the car is going on a super diet just yet. I kinda like the windows, untill I can find/afford the closed trailer I want. I'm planning on shaking down the car in the Grand Bayou Road Racing Series which runs bracket classes. I'm afraid the car might be too fast for their fastest bracket ...

New Owner

Greetings everyone, I've been telling myself for years that if I ever found a car like BudMan’s I would jump on it. I had a 98 ITR stolen about 3 months after I got her. They had 5 on the lot in San Antonio when I got mine. I wish I would have bought all of them so I could pull out a new one every 5...
