Re: Performance Friction 97 Compound
I spoke with Alex at Performance Friction today. If you guys love the 01 compound, please make a list of people who run the pad. I just purchased the last set, they are no longer going to produce the pad unless they have others requesting to use them. They will continue to produce the 97 compound fo...

Performance Friction 97 Compound
Does anyone know where I can find a set of performance friction 97 compound pads for the front?
I've been searching and can't find them. They make them for the rear but haven't seen front sets.
Thanks.

Where can I buy new wheel bearings for a good price? I need 2 fronts for the extended wheel stud install. The dealer wants like 115-30 if I recall and that's not much more than the ones I was quoted from Beneit Auto Supply.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: clutch fluid
Release bearing is a few years old but it's had total 500 miles since then, car is never driven.
When the car was in storage for a little while, the clutch line had a bunch of air in the line but has been re-bled. I'm going to check the cmc and see if there's any leaks.
Thanks for the info guys.

clutch fluid
Is it ok if I use rbf 600 for my clutch fluid?
Not sure what the problem could be but once engine temp gets up, clutch has an issue where the pedal isn't smooth when pushed in. I pump the clutch pedal a few times and then the problem goes away.
Throw-out bearing issue or just needs to be re-bled?

Re: Track Rotors & Pads
luke, what kind of cooling options are available? I heard it's very difficult to route cooling ducts in the proper place. I see a lot of guys running just ducting positioned at the face of the rotor instead of the proper way which should be directed at the veins of the rotor. I remember a while back...

Re: Track Rotors & Pads
Yeah they are old. I know you guys like the AutoZone's and I do too. I have a set paired with gt-sports for the street and I have had zero problems. For a nice track set, does anyone offer a 2-piece setup? I saw the StopTech AeroRotos. Any extra cooling I can get the better with the tracks I visit. ...

Re: Track Rotors & Pads
They were broken in properly. *And in addition to this they had 2 sessions which felt fine at Sebring. Just going to get some better rotors and re-bleed.

Re: Track Rotors & Pads
Hey Dave,
Yeah the pads were bedded in. They were on the same pair of rotors at Sebring for 2 sessions making this it's 3rd.
Goodrich lines all the way around
Motul 600 fluid.
Rotors were warped. There might be some air in the system but there's always been a soft pedal.

Re: Track Rotors & Pads
Well I took my car out to the track yesterday...wasn't a happy camper. I just never feel confident with how the brakes perform on my car when you get them up to temp. It has to be the autozone rotors I was running because the pulsating, vibrations seemed like a warped rotor. Rotors developed pretty ...

Re: Track Rotors & Pads
I'll bring the GT Sports that are up front now but I don't have another set of VR compound. The pads are bedded into the autozone rotors, they were brand new rotors and brand new pads used once at Sebring for a few hours of track time. I guess I can do a test run on the street and see how they feel ...

Track Rotors & Pads
I have a pair of AutoZone rotors and Spec VR's used once at Sebring. They are kinda old though. Last time I used them was back in 2004 or 05' after I took them off the car and stored them for another event. Pads look decent, been sitting in plastic bags in a cool dry place all this time. Will these ...

Re: Installing Extended Wheel Studs, PITA?
I decided to scratch the whole idea of running extended wheel studs until after the track event. I'm just going to throw my stock rims back on for the event since clearance isn't an issue with them.
I'm going to keep the write-up on file for when I do them. Thanks again for the info!

Re: Installing Extended Wheel Studs, PITA?
you have to replace the wheel bearings as you have to destroy them to remove the hubs which is necessary for extended stud install on ITR hubs. Hope you realize and planned for that. Other than that, it's simple. I see no need for spot welding. Is there any way to avoid damaging wheel bearing? I ju...

Installing Extended Wheel Studs, PITA?
I have to install extended wheel studs next week, any tips? I'm installing ARP, should I have them spot welded once I have them pressed? Should I try and get the car on stands and do this myself? Bring the hubs to the shop to have pressed? Labor for something like this would probably be expensive, h...
