My '98 has 143K on it and still burns virtually no oil, and is as strong (if not stronger) than the day she was built.

Re: Spotted a bunch of CRZs at an autocross?
So what do you think of the car's performance? I actually posted a mini-review last night over on HT. http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2825672 Overall I really liked the CRZ. Much more fun than a lot of "faster" cars out there, and "fun" means a lot to me. That's one r...

Re: 1998 ITR Midwest
Hi,
I'm #21 '98 with 138k miles. I thought I had one of the highest-mileage ones out here. Good to see another R that gets driven properly.

Re: Prospective potential ITR owner
I just bought a 2000 ITR, and it suffers from what I consider pretty standard issues that you will probably experience, unless your car has super low miles for it's age. These issues are fairly standard for all the older Civics/Integras I've owned. 1.) Oil burns at a rate of at least a half litre o...

Re: Miss R has a shimmy!
Hi All, I took a video of the shimmy.... http://www.kamuitips.com/downloads/DSCN3554.AVI Please let me know your thoughts... Thanks! :D Wow that's an interesting one, looking at the video. The low-speed definitely eliminates balance as the cause. I think it's the tires, but as another poster said, ...

Re: New guy here
I also suggest you avoid a "clone". A real R has a feel that's very different from all other integras, and I think it would be very hard to duplicate by cloning. Some of the stiffness changes would be near impossible (although I can't say you'd "feel" those differences). There we...

Question about paint on CW itr
Hi Folks, As some may know I've been checking into other possible cars to replace my 98 itr, but am finding myself more and more interested in keeping the best car I've ever owned and just enjoying it. So I dropped by a detailing place today that came highly recommended from my local acura service p...

Re: Thoughts on possible replacements for TypeR?
A BMW E30 M3 (88-91) Very close comparison with ITR, and IMO that's the best balance M3 ever. Go test drive one and you will know what I'm talking about. Interesting. I might have to find one to try. The only problem there is, it doesn't have any "age" advantage over my itr. In fact my it...

Re: Thoughts on possible replacements for TypeR?
What other cars should I check out? I checked out the VW gti and felt disconnected with the road (by comparison). I checked the Mazda Speed 3 and liked it, although the interior was pretty cheap and the throttle difficult to maintain evenly. I need to check a Civic SI again (last time I did I didn't...

Re: Thoughts on possible replacements for TypeR?
One of the few cars that meets your requirements (if you're serious about the 2 seats comment) is a Miata. They are dirt cheap, fabulously reliable, and can be given substantial power with little cash or effort. They already handle fantastically, but could be improved if desired. As a bonus, you ca...

Thoughts on possible replacements for TypeR?
Hi All, I feel strange asking this question, but I'm SURE I'm not the first who's gone through this. I have a 98 type-R with 130k miles that I've owned since new. I haven't tracked it, and it's been kept "original" with OEM stuff along the way (in other words, I didn't feel the need to mod...

Re: Thinking about buying a Type-R
One difference that's obvious: Type-rs have 5 lug wheels, all other tegs only have 4. Note that you CAN put a 5-lug assembly on a non-type-r. But if you see 4 lugs, it's either a non-type-r, or it's a type-r that's had its assemblies stolen and replaced.

Re: Thinking about buying a Type-R
I have a 98 type-r with 130k miles. Engine/tranny/drivetrain/clutch/syncrhos are extremely strong (much stronger than other models). The problem is that MANY of the Rs have been tracked which is VERY VERY hard on a car. So you have to balance some of the stronger "track-ready" components a...

Re: 1998 Type R in mint condition (<29K miles)
I am new to the forum and have decided to let my car go to a new home. It's a '98 with less than 29K miles on it. Never been in an accident, color is championshipwhite. Went on Kelley Blue Book to determine value of the car, but the Type R's weren't an option. Can someone let me know what a decent ...

Expo 10 hasn't been announced yet. The committee is still working out all the details. :) Cool to see #21 out there. A friend of mine has '98 #22. Hey Joe, Thanks for explaining - I was confused. As far as my car, I'm the orig owner, 130k miles, runs like a top, daily driver. Best car I've ever own...

Re: ITR Expo Fundraiser - 2010 ITR Calender
I see this is a fundraiser related to the 2010 expo, but I don't see ANY information about the event itself (when? where? how much? what it's about?). Obviously it's a type-r event, but since I've never attended one I feel out of the loop. There's nothing on the event calendar for 2010 as far as I c...

Dave - I was thinking the same thing.
These things are just getting rarer and rarer. If the car is in as good of condition as it sounds (always an IF of course), and it was well maintained, it sounds like a great car and a good deal!

Is this happening this year? I posted this on the other site and it was deleted in seconds..I expect no response in the Regional/Meet section. Re: FS: '97 ITR #69 - Collectors car w/ 819 miles! Ohio
I have conflicting views on this car (well actually on what I'd do with it). I've been trying to find a perfect replacement for my 98 type-r with 125k miles (it's in great shape, runs perfectly, and I absolutely love it, I just know it will have to be replaced eventually). Nothing out there is like ...

I'm sure there are a few dozen buyers out there ready to pony up for this one. Holy crap. I'd do it myself if I had more scratch.
Good luck. But you won't need it.
I actually think the price is low for this particular car.

Congrats!
You're sure right about the difference between an R and a GSR! Night and day, like you say.
What year is it? And how the heck did you find one with so few miles???

Hi Dave, What do you think is "normal" for burning oil in a 100+K ITR? I'm wondering because I'm trying to figure out if my ITR is abnormal or not. I don't burn any oil that I know of at 120k miles - is this odd for an ITR? Steve What kind of oil? Weight? Driving habits/style? Has it ever...
