ITRCA Content/Website update...

Anything goes? Well, if you keep it clean and aren't obnoxious.

ITRCA Content/Website update...

Post by Dave-ROR »

Post any ideas/content that you think should be included in the site. This site needs to be updated so badly it's funny (in a sad way).

Updated front page.

Content is ok, and will be added by users unless any specific forums are needed.

Oh yeah... fix the issue where if a link is posted, it takes you there in your current browser/tab. You have to back up to get back to this site. Should open in a separate tab/window.

Definitely need front page refreshed. E8 was awesome but dayamn :P
Also the annoying thing with someone posting just before you click submit and it asks if you really want to post.

Front page updated. Looks tiny now. We can add stuff to it, but removed the old crap for now.

Dave: Already know about that, just haven't had time to mod the software to fix that.

Joe: Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way around that :( I'll look though.

Man just wordpress the front end content, it's fucking easy to work with. I'm an anti-CMS person and I love WP. Then get zeroforum for the boards, have dustin write some functions up to integrate the mainsite w/ forums and call it a day... This way you can have an array of authors that may contribute news/content/etc without burdening any of the admins.

I have no problem putting a CMS in place. It's more time and figuring out what content to add. I actually should move this site to the same host that ITREXPO is on, then we could use any .NET or php stuff..

I'd look into wordpress, it's disgustingly awesome and I stress this comes from a control freak that hates CMS's.... My next major web project will be on WP. I think the content to add could be all of the general trivial itr info/past expo stuff, staff blog, tech write ups, etc...

I've been reading some blogs that are in WP format. I like it and it's fairly easy on the eyes.

Great updates so far Dave and, err, Dave :). The forums look less cluttered without the regionals. Much better. I actually don't mind the php style now.

Plus they have an awesome iPhone app where you can make blog posts/post pictures right from the phone... great for documenting awesome events as they are going down (expo perhaps?)

I don't think we've figured out the mod stuff yet. We're just trying to keep this place going...and growing as an official base where we do not have to report to someone out for a profit and their unpredictable rules and actions.

We're trying for a large update here.

BTW, Active Topics list has been fixed.

I still need to fix the links opening in a new window deal, meant to do so today but got stuck working on the ITR more after breaking one of the VC studs (one of the ones holding the intake cam in also..). Ugh.

Yeah, we had way too many regions.
