type R RPM?
type R RPM?
I have a jdm 98 integra type R in a 95 civic dx. the motor is pretty much stock with just an exhuast and airfilter. I used to rev up to 8400 rpm now i can only hit 8100 rpm. what is wrong? what is the usual redline for my type r.
rpm
Actual is about 85 and change, but on your tach it should be about 8400. If your car is only reving that high, it could be a couple things, but starting, you may want to change all your fluids and plugs, and do a valve adjustment, ie. do the normal maintenence stuff, then worry about it.

8100
Are you saying you get fuel cut at 8100? Check spark plug wires, and take the distributor cap off and inspect the cap and rotor and for any loose or corroded connections. I assume you run stock timing - if not put it back to stock. What fuel are you using? Make sure it's always premium high octane. Are you sure your catalyst isn't clogged? You can disconnect the A-pipe from the catalyst and take it for a spin, and see if exhaust backpressure is causing the condition. Hook up a secondary Tach, like a VAFC or an analog gauge to make sure your stock tach is accurate, they usually aren't the best.

still got a problem...
I have done all the homework. My ECU is from the original R. the catalytic is not clogged, and the distributor is still fine, and I use 91 octane. Do you think it is the fuel pump. I am still using the stock civic fuel pump, the thing is that other honda civics hybrids use thier stock fuel pumps and they are running fine. The autometer tach is pretty much brand new, so it can't be that.
In fact I have other goodies i would like to add on, that i have in my trunk, but i want to square this away first before anything? I have a lot of people wanning to try out my car, so I wanna get everything running.

revs
It still sounds like ignition related, make sure the polarity on the coil is right if you have an aftermarket coil.
