Re: how to build a cheater motor.
I don't street race any more...BUT....if it was a set race I would definately be checking under your hood. I'd see the b20block and hear the camshafts from a mile away so there goes telling someone that you're ITR is "stock". If you are just interested in revving up mustangs at streetlight...

Mugen CAI installed pictures/advice needed
Hey guys, I'm ready to install my Mugen intake I purchased and I'm basically lost on how it should be installed without damaging the part. Can anyone post pictures of where the pieces mount to and some advice on how to move the a/c lines...Also, can I keep the bracket that the a/c lines mount to, or...

Re: ITR 00-???? finally back on the road..3 years later
installing the moogen intake isn't too hard but it definitely helps having a 2nd person available (if you have AC lines to work around). I believe when we did mine we removed the passenger fender liner and the transmission torque mount in addition to have a big prybar to gently push the AC lines te...

ITR 00-???? finally back on the road..3 years later
Hi everyone, I'm basically new here. I don't think I've made a formal introduction to everyone so I'd like to introduce myself and one of my toys. I'm 30 yrs. old and have been building and drag racing honda's since 1998. Going straight is a huge rush, but it's over way too quick. Road courses seem ...

Re: I found a crashed 01 shell...I'm looking for opinions
NJ? my old '98 CW was stolen in NJ. This is a 2001 ITR that was originally NBP. Sorry Spoon, the car was re-sprayed CW. Doespike has the vin and badge for the registration. I've decided that the car is too far gone for me to attempt repairing. I'm going to buy it anyway and finish pulling parts off...

I found a crashed 01 shell...I'm looking for opinions
Hey everyone, I was searching junkyards for ITR parts and came across a 2001 that hit a railroad post/track in the rear quarter panel. I took a bunch of pictures and video, but my new phone erased all but one. I know it's white now, it was originally a black car. I'll give an idea of how hard it was...

Re: Federal Engine switching Laws....the reason my JDM sucks
the transmission isn't as difficult...not having a vin plate causes problems but as long as the sticker is there and matches the receipt or there is a notorized bill of sale someone would be ok.

Federal Engine switching Laws....the reason my JDM sucks
In my other threads I've been discussing the fact that I failed a salvage inspection due to a JDM engine swap. I lost my appeal and just got off the phone with the person who made the decision. He sent me a copy of federal laws concerning JDM engines and NJ follows federal law with emmissions. Pursu...

Re: Need opinions...purchase used USDM swap or buy new OEM
that's what I'm considering...but the new longblock doesn't have any accessories (sensors,IM,alt,mounts,Dist.,etc..) I would need to pull all those parts off my JDM swap to get it running. I'd then have to try to sell the JDM without any of that stuff

Need opinions...purchase used USDM swap or buy new OEM
If anyone has been reading my posts recently, they've all been dealing with my salvage inspection issues. I really need to get my hands on a legit USDM swap, but they seem to be few and far between. I know one of the mods on this site has a swap for 6.5k and I'm considering it...but I'm really just ...

Re: My salvage inspection experience
I bought the car private party so I am unsure of how auctions do it. I know I have to be super careful about a USDM swap, I just found a legit one today but I paid a good amount for it. I need to change the transmission because the JDM ones don't have a vin plate and my sticker came back to 40 cars ...

Re: Thermostat
I've had a few B18c's that took almost a half hour to warm up (not any fun in colder weather) replacing the thermostat immediately solved the problem both times. As well as heating up much quicker and staying at a good operating range..my gas mileage improved as well. While I'm taking up space...my ...

My salvage inspection experience
Hello everyone, I'm new here but not to Honda's. I've been drag racing and building FI hondas for over a decade but I'm sick of going in a straight line and finally picked up a theft recovery that was rebuilt thinking it would be a relatively process. I couldn't have been any more wrong!!! I did res...

questions about the salvage inspection process..especiallyNJ
Hi everyone, I'm new here and to the ITR world in general. I've been building FI hondas since the late 90's but they only go straight, I'm looking forward to seeing what turning is like :) the car is obviously a theft recovery.... I'm taking my theft recovery to the salvage inspection next week and ...
