Seat Removal

Post by Napolean Solo »

has anyone removed their rear seats? and how hard is it to do?

seems like they could weigh about 30lbs. and weight saving is definately good.

actually very easy. the uppers , fold them and look at the sides and remove the black "C" clip with a pliar then pull out.
As for the bottom, If I remeber just pull hard from the leading edge and your done.

I could be wrong but I think I'm right.
As for the weight- to me its not worth the 25-30lbs, I would rather it look like a car then a race car.

I think we weighed the rear upper and lower seats to be more like 10 lbs. Lower seat weighs nothing.

sounds good to me, i have a 90 CR-X too and for some reason i like the feeling of having a two seater, it feels more sporty rather than "family-functional." thanks

Meant to say it is easy to do. 2 clips and done in 5-7 minutes.

the bottom doesn't just pull up and out there is a hook with a bolt in it that you have to remove after you take the back out. i do agree that is very simple and can be don in 5-10 minutes

:?: Does anyone know if you can remove the bottom section before removing the backs of the seats, I was planning on putting in a new fuel pump, and the last time I did it was on our race car which has no interior at all. Ordinarily I wouldn't mind taking out the back seats, other then the fact that I have my amps and EQ mounted to them, so it would be a real pain in the ass. Thanks guys. :?:

my first instinct is to say no. It would definitely be more difficult. YOu can pop the 2 clips and pull the seats out of the pivots and just slide them back slightly without disrupting amps or wiring. then easily get to the one bolt for the lower seat.
