don't know how to find sequence number of ITR

does anyone know how to check the vin and see if it will tell you what number type r you have?....i have two that are salvage and neither one has the plaque and are both dc2's.....i got the vins if someone can tell me or can tell me someone who knows how to find out?....carfax doesn't but i know someone out here has to know how to find out! hit me back please!!!

The only way is to track down the original owner. The vin has nothing to do with the 'numbering'. This is the one fault I see in the way Honda did this.

I had the same problem with my type r. There is nothing you can do to track it down because I even contacted American Honda and asked them to find my number. They told me that they do not have the information of the type r's made from 2000 to 01. If you do figure out a way to find it then let me know so I can find my number.
