So I picked up a barely used Schroth Harness the other day. With EXPO comin up I've been trying to get the caR ready, plus I wanted an upgraded belt for AutoX as well.
I've been wondering what would be the best way to attach the shoulder straps without installing a full cage. The lap belts secure to the factory locations. I have a custom made mount for the submarine strap.
My thoughts on the shoulder straps...Should I attach to a C pillar bar or a custom B pillar bar or the rear mount for the factory seatbelt?
Pros and Cons?
That would be the best way, I read you should install them at 45* to your sholders because any angle much more than that can compress your spine in a accadent.
you need at least a harness bar. If you really want to use harnesses I would really suggest at least a rollbar with some sort of harness bar such as the autopower race bar. Its not a cage and enables you to keep your car comfortable for the street.

Sorry for any confusion - it's a safety issue that is very different than during an autocross.

Just to clear up any confusion. You mean a full, welded in cage? As opposed to a bolted in cage like the Autopower, for example?
Bolted in cage is fine. The Autopower works well according to most I've known. I didn't catch - do you have a cage? If so, that's what you would hook the harness too. If not, keep the harness for autocross, but put the stock belt back in for the expo & you'll be fine.
