Yes...it restricts the exhaust a lot. The ITR comes with a pretty good exhaust stock though compared to the GSR or LS. If you were to remove the cat and run a test pipe you would notice a difference.....

so that means if i get a non cat back exhaust it will just be connected to the stock cat?
Look. Cat back means that the exhaust system connects to the CAT and goes backwards to the exit. if you get a NON cat back exhaust it is called an Axel back and connects just behind the rear wheel (Assuming the DC5R/S is similar to the DC2)
talking about exhausts,
here in NZ, the government is passing a new law...
that says...
All exhausts must be as quiet as factory
i just got myself a Kakimoto exhaust system...
from reading this post, i think it should be a cat back system.
i was wondering if i keep my Jdm Cat, would my exhaust sound be a lot more quiet than having no CAT (in NZ, we do not require Cats)???
and what is the inside diameter of a Jdm cat?

Luckily, we can rely on common sense enforcement.

i need a exhaust that is quiet... maybe 2 resonators, muff and silencer?
